The One in Which I Talk About Friends

            “Friends” is a great sitcom in my opinion. If nothing else it’s an iconic show. Not only is it humorous but it also has good, well-developed characters. Throughout the show’s decade-plus long run, we see six very different characters grow together and ultimately prosper through ups and downs as they navigate their lives in New York City.             One criticism of the show is that it’s not realistic. Granted, there are plenty of TV shows that lack any sense of realism, but “Friends” seems to be picked on in this regard (maybe because it is such a famous show). Many people point out the fact that Monica’s apartment is huge (especially for New York City) and would probably have extremely high rent; this would probably be seemingly very high especially at the beginning of the show, when Monica is first starting her cooking career and her roommate Rachel works at a coffee shop. What One can Learn from John Goddard and his Life List

            John Goddard is a fascinating person to learn about, and in my opinion an explorer worth studying. He may not have been someone as famous or as influential as either Christopher Columbus or Marco Polo. However, John Goddard can serve as a great example of how to live one’s life.             When John Goddard was fifteen, he sat down and wrote over a hundred goals, a list of things he wanted to do in his life . In an interview with LIFE magazine he said, “ When I was fifteen all the adults I knew seemed to complain, 'Oh, if only I'd done this or that when I was younger.' They had let life slip by them. I was sure that if I planned for it, I could have a life of excitement and fun and knowledge.” And by the time he died back in 2013, John Goddard had accomplished the vast majority of his goals.             Most of these goals revolved around travel and adventure, and he accomplished many of these by working in careers that revolved arou
